During my cross-cultural trip with Eastern Mennonite last semester, we spent the month of February in Palestine. We stayed with host families in the town of Beit Sahour (more on that next week). While we were there, we had the opportunity to go to a music concert at the local community center, the Jadal Center. The group that played, the Jadal Group, was amazing and blessed us with some great music. The music of the Middle East is another part of the culture makes it so different, and is another aspect of the culture that I fell in love with. Its very unique, and yet I can resonate with it at the same time. Here my favorite song that we heard by the Jadal Group:
Pretty beautiful. I found an older advertisement for the same event we attended (its a regularly occurring event), but it gives a good background of the group. If you enjoyed this, I recommended exploring YouTube for Middle Eastern music and adding some variety and beauty to your music library.
